Facebook Won't Expand Test That Removed 'Page' Posts From News Feed

Pages on Facebook experienced a massive drop in traffic due to the social network testing a change to its News Feed in six countries. The change led to all Page posts being removed from the core News Feed and relegated to the minimally visited Explore Feed.
Pages received, in some cases, 4x less engagement than before and they experienced up to a 60-80% decline in referral traffic.
Though it's not clear what Facebook plans to do with the News Feed and Explore Feed, it says there are "no plans" to roll out this particular test further. That doesn't remove the possibility that a similar change could one day be fully implemented, with the News Feed becoming home exclusively to posts from your friend group.
The goal of this test is to understand if people prefer to have separate places for personal and public content. We will hear what people say about the experience to understand if it's an idea worth pursuing any further. . . As with all tests we run, we may learn new things that lead to additional tests in the coming months so we can better understand what works best for people and publishers.- Adam Mosseri, VP of News Feed, Facebook
