The current Alcatel Idol 4S model is currently being offered with huge discounts. Amazon is selling it for $274, which clearly suggests that its successor should be announced very soon. We already had a chance to see live image of the handset, which won't be much different compared to the Idol 4S.
The phone has also leaked on the GFXBench, but this time the same model again appeared on the GFXBench, but with different specs. The first listing showed Alcatel 6060 with a Snapdragon 625, 3 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 506 GPU, while the new device packs MediaTek Helio P20, 2 GB of RAM, and a Mali-T880 GPU. Either Alcatel is still testing various hardware configurations before deciding on the final one, or there could be several variants.
