Almost every new smartphone in 2017 has attractive design with thin, metal chassis, and instead of focusing on other things, companies are still trying to make phone even thinner while making cuts in other segments. The first segment that gets compromised is the battery size, which is often reduced.
New details suggest that Motorola did the exact same thing with the Moto Z2 Play. Although its predecessor was already very thin, but had a great battery life with a 3,510 mAh battery, the company decided to reduce the thickness of Moto Z2 Play, which also resulted in a smaller battery size.
The thickness of the phone is reduced by about 1mm (from under 7mm) and is lighter by 20g, but in return it has a 3,000 mAh battery. Hopefully the phone will still have great battery life.
