Tesla has reported its most successful quarter for vehicle deliveries. It reached a new record with "just over" 25,000 vehicles being delivered in Q1 2017. That's up 69% over what Tesla reported in the first quarter of 2016.
Unlike in prior quarters, the Model X nearly matched the Model S in deliveries. There were 13,450 Model S units and 11,550 Model X units.
Tesla also set another quarterly record for vehicle production. It produced 25,418 vehicles during Q1 2017.
During the first half of this year, Tesla wants to deliver 47,000 to 50,000 vehicles.
