Twitter's Fabric Development Platform Acquired By Google

Twitter has assisted mobile development through its Fabric platform for years, but it's made the decision to sell the platform to Google. Although Fabric will no longer be run by Twitter, the network is still going to utilize Crashlytics for crash reporting, Digits for user authentication, Answers analytics, and Nuance speech recognition.
While Google transitions to running Fabric, Digits will temporarily still be controlled by Twitter. Fabric's employees are joining Google's Developer Products Group.
No longer controlling Fabric gives Twitter a way to cut down on expenses at a time when losses have piled up.
