Public Records May Support Amazon's Intention To Sell Pharmaceuticals

Amazon's rumored move towards selling pharmaceuticals has received some extra support from public records highlighted in a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. According to the report, Amazon "has gained approval to become a wholesale distributor from a number of state pharmaceutical boards." The company appears to have wholesale pharmacy licenses in 12 states.
Because of how significant Amazon's entrance into the industry would be, the share values of CVS and Walgreens dropped in response to the news.
Amazon still hasn't confirmed its interest in selling pharmaceuticals. Like other reports have suggested, it is likely years away from being a medicine vendor even if that is its intention.
