Google has updated its Chromecast sales figures, revealing 55 million units have now been sold. During its Made by Google hardware event on Wednesday, the company revealed its updated count. The last time it shared that information was in July 2016, when the Chromecast was at 30 million sales.
The Chromecast line has only existed for about four years. Google's streaming devices have proven popular due to their design, ease of use, and relatively low cost. The company has essentially carved out its own area of the streaming device market, with few direct competitors.
