Uber has updated its driver policy in a way that'll both reduce cancelled trips for riders and make it easier for drivers to avoid trips they don't want to take. Riders will be provided with drivers who actually want to bring them to their listed destination.
Drivers are now able to decline trips without it impacting their account standing and they'll be notified when a given trip is going to take over 45 minutes. This will reduce the rate of drivers accepting trips and then quickly deciding to cancel them.
They can also set up arrival times for six personal destinations per day, enabling drivers to make sure they never miss an appointment due to a ride.
These changes are part of the company's "180 days of change" initiative.
