Though streaming devices from companies like Amazon and Apple are popular, the dominant brand in the United States is Roku. A report from Parks Associates found 37% of streaming devices in US households are Roku products, which is up from 30% year-on-year.
Devices from Apple and Google lost some of their market share. The only competitor monitored by the report that saw a rise in its share was the Amazon Fire TV, which has a 24% share.
The Apple TV fell to 15%, which Parks Associates believes is due to the device's high price. And the Google Chromecast has an 18% share.
