Tesla's Solar Roof product is finally being installed. It unveiled the product last year as an alternative to normal roof-based solar panels. Compared to a typical setup, the Solar Roof looks more like traditional roofing material and is therefore significantly more stylish.
It completed its first installations on some homes belonging to Tesla employees. CEO Elon Musk confirmed his house and some others have the product installed and the Solar Roof is functional.

Preorders for the product began during the second quarter of 2017.
