Tesla Loses $401M On $2.7bn In Revenue

Tesla's earnings report for Q2 2017 reveals the company is still losing a lot of money, but not in an unexpected way. The electric vehicle maker lost a total of $401 million on revenues of $2.7 billion. Those results are comparable to Tesla's Q1, though it had a 49% increase in revenue and 53% rise in vehicle deliveries.
Along with delivering 22,026 vehicles to consumers, which provided a large portion of its revenue, Tesla got $287 million from its energy generation and storage products. That figure is up from $214 million in the first quarter.
Tesla anticipates stronger financial reports for the rest of the year, with operating costs expected to remain the same. Revenue should increase due to Model 3 sales.
