AsteroidOS, an open-source alternative to Android Wear that was launched way back in 2015, has now first device that runs it out of the box. The French startup ConnectWatch announced their first standalone smartwatch that is powered by AsteroidOS.
The standalone watch won't support 4G LTE, but only 3G, which is still better than no cellular connection. It'll have a quad-core 1.39 GHz processor that powers a 1.39-inch 400 x 400 AMOLED display, a choice of 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM, and storage options of up to 8 GB. There is even a 2MP camera that can do 720p video recording.
