Although many sites, including ours, reported that Andy Rubin's Essential smartphone finally started shipping after 57 days of delay, that seems not to be the case. According to PhoneArena, the Essential PH-1 smartphone did not ship yesterday as earlier reported.
Customers have yet to receive a shipping confirmation and are very upset because the company charged their credit cards without providing some form of shipping confirmation. The only thing that Essential did is charge credit cards, while the phone has yet to ship. Many retailers don't charge a credit card used for a pre-order until the phone is shipped, so we'll keep you posted about this.
