AT&T will include offline viewing capabilities in its DirecTV Now cable-free streaming service next year. The upcoming feature was announced on Thursday, with AT&T saying it'll give users the ability to "download and go." It didn't detail exactly how the functionality would work.
The feature was revealed as part of an announcement regarding the implementation of a new video system for DirecTV Now.
Not all streaming services offer offline viewing and those that do often haven't for very long. Netflix, for example, began letting people download episodes and movies last year.
DirecTV Now is also going to receive cloud DVR next year.
