Mobile Game Revenue Overtakes PC, Console Revenue

Revenue from the mobile gaming industry has surpassed that from consoles and PCs. DFC Intelligence reports 2016 was the first time mobile games overtook the other categories. The market increased in size by 32% last year, bringing it to $38 billion in revenue.
DFC looked at the performance of 30 companies in its report. It found casual and social casino games are essentially peaking, with more complex games expected to become increasingly important.
Among the companies that could end up being major players in the mobile gaming space are Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts, reports DFC. Both companies are already among the top publishers on mobile.
