Apple Team Making iPhone A 'One-Stop Shop' For Medical Info

A secret team within Apple is working to make the iPhone a "one-stop shop" for medical info, reports CNBC. The company already has a known interest in health-related initiatives. HealthKit serves as an existing spot for compiled health info, it's looking to expand wearable health tracking, and it may even be working on a tool to combat diabetes.
This report claims an Apple team is working with developers, hospitals, and others to integrate clinical data into the iPhone. Everything from people's medications to their allergies and lab results could potentially be included.
People would have an easy way to share all of their info with hospitals and doctors.
Apple could acquire companies in the cloud hosting industry to support the project. It's also working with people in the health industry to remove the fragmentation issue for health data.
These include "The Argonaut Project," a private sector initiative that is promoting the adoption of open standards for health information, and "The Carin Alliance," an organization that is looking to give patients a central role in controlling their own medical data.- CNBC
