Twitter Announces 16 New Streaming Partnerships

After revealing a 24-hour streaming news deal with Bloomberg News, Twitter announced more than a dozen other streaming deals. It's working with companies like BuzzFeed, Vox, Viacom, and the PGA to include a diverse array of streaming content. Twitter is clearly betting big on the utility of livestreamed ad-supported content.
The core portion of the social network may not be experiencing an ideal growth rate, but it might be able to make more money from streams.
Some of the new partnerships may come with exclusive streaming of sports events and other types of content.
BuzzFeed will launch MorningFeed, a morning news and current events show. Fast food company Wendy's is a sponsor.
Vox's The Verge will host a weekly gadget review program called "Circuit Breaker."
Through its Viacom deal, Twitter will get to stream major award shows like the Video Music Awards. And its Live Nation deal comes with exclusive concerts and original content, beginning with a Zac Brown Band performance on May 13.
