The technology for mobile devices with bendable displays is not quite there, but we are approaching that date very fast. Panels that are bent in the factory already exist, and Samsung Display is now getting ready to unveil a screen that you can bend yourself.
During the Society for Information Display 2017 event which runs Tuesday through Thursday at the LA Convention Center, Samsung Display will showcase a stretchable 9.1-inch OLED panel. The display can allegedly stretch as much as 12mm, or 1.2cm, when pressed, while "still maintaining a high degree of resolution."
Besides that, the company will also unveil a 5.09-inch 'glassless 3D OLED' display for VR devices and a 1.96-inch display with a UHD resolution and a pixel density of 2250ppi.
