Qualcomm Unveils New Mid-Range Snapdragon Chipsets For Mobile Devices

As promised, Qualcomm has officially took off the wraps from its next-generation mid-range chipsets for mobile devices. Although we expected to see three new chips, the company announced only two, successors of last year's Snapdragon 653 and Snapdragon 626. The chipsets offer more power, more features, faster connectivity and better battery life.
The Snapdragon 660 and 630 support up to 8 GB of RAM and feature the X12 LTE modem, Bluetooth 5, new Quick Charge 4, specialized chips for machine learning, improved camera processing, and were built with a 14nm process.
The Snapdragon 660 has an eight-core Kryo 260 CPU and an Adreno 512 GPU, while the Snapdragon 630 has eight Cortex A53 cores and an Adreno 508 GPU. The former offers 20% better CPU and 30% better GPU performance. There is no word on when the devices powered by these chipsets will be out.
