Elon Musk Reveals Some Info About Model Y

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has shared some details about its Model Y crossover vehicle. During a conference car for its Q1 earnings report, Musk said the vehicle would arrive in 2019 or 2020. It'll take a little longer to release since it's being built on an entirely new platform.
While it had originally planned to base the Model Y on the Model S, it decided to pursue a new platform. That'll extend production times.
With a new platform, Musk says the Model Y can leave behind Tesla's current 12-volt electrical system, which he's referred to as "wrong for everything."
Tesla thinks the Y will help it grow to producing a million cars annually by 2020.
