Dubai To Have Robot Police Force By 2030, Already Launches Limited Model

25% of the police force in Dubai, UAE is going to be made up of robots by 2030, the country has announced. On May 24, Dubai launched a new police robot that can send video to a command center, forward reported crimes, settle fines, and speak nine languages.
The modified REEM robot, which was unveiled in 2011, is first going to be used in malls and at tourist attractions. Dubai then wants to use robots as receptions in police stations.
Eventually a model will be released that can operate as a complete police officer, says Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi, General Director of Dubai Police's Smart Services Department.
