A ranking of mobile apps by their 2016 revenue has been released by Sensor Tower and as one would expect, streaming services were on top. Spotify beat all other apps, coming in at number one for total revenue and number one on the App Store.
Some of the other top apps were LINE, Netflix, Tinder, Pandora, and HBO NOW. Outside of LINE and Tinder, all of the top apps are part of the streaming industry, which has grown significantly in recent years.
Hulu, another popular streaming service, came in 9th overall.
