UK Investing $135M In Electric, Autonomous Vehicles

The UK government has invested $136 million (£109 million) in electric and autonomous vehicles. Much of the money went to a project called the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), which is dedicated to low-carbon vehicles.
From the APC, £62 million was directed to projects at BMW, Ford, and other companies. Another £16 million was also invested through the Office for Low Emissions Vehicles.
Low carbon and driverless cars are the future and as a government, we are determined through the Industrial Strategy to build on our strengths and put the UK at the forefront of this revolution. Investment in this technology is an integral part of this government's efforts, to ensure the UK auto sector remains competitive and world-leading.- Greg Clark, business secretary
24 projects somewhat related to autonomous vehicles received £31 million through the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles. That entity is backed by the industry and gets half of its money from the private sector.
