Messaging service Telegram now offers end-to-end encrypted voice calls. A lot of its competitors have already introduced audio calls, though Telegram likely took a little while to roll it out due to its focus on security.
Telegram has been a popular alternative to WhatsApp for a couple years. As of early 2016, it had over 100 million monthly users, while Facebook's WhatsApp has over a billion.
Telegram Calls is first rolling out to people in Europe. It'll then reach markets around the world in the near future.
AI is used by the app to improve call quality.
