Twitch Adds 1080p 60 fps Support

Streaming at 1080p and 60 fps is now possible on Twitch. The Amazon-owned game streaming site decided to get rid of its prior 3.5 megabit bitrate limit. It is now recommending that "most streams" use 3 to 6 megabits.
With that shift, Twitch says streams should function better when it comes to "faster, more demanding games."
1080p support has been in testing for a little while, so some streamers were already able to stream at that resolution.
Twitch recommends people carefully evaluate their streaming setup to figure out the best resolution.
Just because you can stream at 1080p and higher bitrates doesn't necessarily mean you should," the company adds. "It's better to have a stable stream at a lower resolution or bitrate than a higher quality stream that makes you drop frames.- Twitch
