Disney isn't going to use virtual reality headsets in its theme parks, which differs from Six Flags and Sea World. However, CEO Bob Iger is interested in utilizing augmented reality, which allows people to remain connected to the real world.
Iger is hoping AR technology will become lighter and easier to integrate as the years go by. He personally spends each Tuesday afternoon using a head-mounted device to engage in a lightsaber battle.
It'll be a while before augmented reality can really be integrated into theme parks, but Disney considers it worth waiting for.
