Netflix Will Pay People To Translate Subtitles

Rather than hire a professional team to translate the vast amount of subtitles on Netflix, the company has unveiled a contractor-based program. Netflix's Hermes program is inviting users to create subtitles in over 20 languages.
Those users will function as contractors and they'll work for Netflix through local partner firms. Their payment will be based on how much translation and subtitling they do.
Hermes was created, according to Netflix, as a better way to find good subtitlers in various parts of the world.
Everyone interested in participating will need to complete a 90-minute exam that tests their English skills, their translation skills, and their ability to spot errors.
