Apple TV Apps, Games Can Be 20X Larger Than Before

The maximum file size for the Apple TV has grown to 4 GB, allowing apps and games to be 20x larger than before. Developers for the tvOS platform were previously capped at 200 MB for their app package, but Apple has changed its submission guidelines to allow for larger files.
With this update, Apple says developers can "include more media" and offer a "complete, rich user experience upon installation."
Games may be helped more than traditional apps since they can be larger overall and include superior graphics.
Although software greater than 200 MB was previously allowed, all other assets had to be stored in Apple's On-Demand Resources, a cloud service. Cloud storage remains an option, but content built directly into the app package is less reliant on fast internet connections and will load faster.
