Imgur's simplistic messaging options have been swapped out for a more complete messaging service. The update to the app also includes a new follow function. Messaging now works with rich media like GIFs and emojis. You can send the content via comment, through the share icon, or in a more traditional messaging interface.
When someone contacts you and you don't want them to, blocking is possible from within the messaging interface.
The updated communication option is available on mobile and desktop. Imgur's new follow function is available on mobile.
