After shutting down its headquarters in Seattle and dozens of layoffs, Cyanogen Inc has officially confirmed that it will be shutting down all its services for good by the end of 2016, the 31st of December. This means that there won't be any Cyanogen-related support from the company and everything will now depend on the community.
Smartphones that are using Cyanogen, such as Yu Yureka, OnePlus One or ZUK Z1, will not be getting future updates.
Hopefully the community behind CyanogenMod can keep it live, otherwise there are not many custom ROMs that would be worth trying out.
As part of the ongoing consolidation of Cyanogen, all services and Cyanogen-supported nightly builds will be discontinued no later than 12/31/16. The open source project and source code will remain available for anyone who wants to build CyanogenMod personally.
