A smart speaker running Microsoft's software will be out in 2017 and it'll compete with the Amazon Echo and Google Home. Harman Kardon is launching a speaker that comes with Cortana, Microsoft's digital voice-based assistant. A short teaser was released for the product, revealing its general design.
The only date shared in the video is "2017," so it's not clear when Harman expects to have the speaker on the market.
By the time it's available, Cortana will be more capable than ever before since it's being opened up to third-party development.
Microsoft described Harman as an "early device partner" and says it'll have "more news to share next year about their plans."
