Now Russia wants Mark Zuckerberg to testify

After the UK and the US, Russia now wants Mark Zuckerberg to testify in front of the government. According to a report by The Moscow Times, a senator in the Russian Parliament proposed the same during a session of the upper house on Wednesday. In response to the proposal, Speaker of the house, Valentina Matviyenko, said that an order will be issued and his arrival will be “organized”.
Facebook has remained largely unscathed from the hearings and scandals.
Zuckerberg had testified in front of the US government after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. He has since also appeared in front of the European Parliament, while Facebook’s representatives have had to testify in front of UK and Singapore governments as well. In fact, Zuckerberg has done two Congressional hearings in the US so far.
Speaker of the Russian Parliament, Valentina Matviyenko, said that an order will be issued and Mark Zuckerberg's arrival will be “organized”.
However, the social network has remained largely unscathed from the hearings and scandals. The company promised to change its policies and has done so too, though many question the new policies as well. Russian senators apparently want Zuckerberg to testify on privacy, information security, and the “dissemination of harmful content”.
It would be interesting to see what Facebook’s response to this is. With the CA scandal, many countries have woken up to the perils users are facing, and social networks have come under scrutiny.
