You may have seen reports about a possible lite variant of Samsung’s last year’s flagship phone. Well, it seems the device will be called the Galaxy S Light Luxury, instead of calling it the Galaxy S8 Mini or Galaxy S8 Lite. The phone is a toned down version of last year’s flagship though, which by the way, is still on the market.
The Galaxy S Light Luxury was listed on a Chinese website and was first spotted by SamMobile. The device runs on the Snapdragon 660 chipset and it comes with an Univisium display. You will get features like Samsung Pay, wireless charging, Face Unlock and iris scanner. It has Android Oreo out of the box.
The phone is a toned down version of last year’s flagship.
In China, the device is priced at CNY 3999 (approx. $630) and will be sold in black and burgundy red color. The device will be on pre-order until June 1st and you can pre-order it for CNY 3699 (approx. $580).
The Galaxy S Light Luxury has a 5.8-inch FHD Infinity Display and 4GB of RAM. It has a 16MP camera on the back with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front and can capture videos in UHD 4K. You get 64GB storage inside and that can be expanded to 400GB using a micro-SD card, through a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
