You can build playlists with voice on Amazon Music now

Amazon just added what may be a much-required feature for Alexa. The new feature allows users to set up Amazon Music playlists using voice support on Echo devices. It’s surprising that this has been missing so far, especially on Amazon’s own music streaming service. The feature doesn’t just make things simpler for US users, but also overseas, especially in countries like India, where the Amazon Music app isn’t available, except through Echo devices.

It’s worth noting though that the feature is available only for Amazon’s own music service right now. We wouldn’t expect it to come for Spotify or Apple Music anytime soon, though one can always hope for the best. The Echo speakers do support some voice control for Spotify and Apple Music, though you can only ask for songs, artists, albums etc. right now. You can also skip and repeat songs.
The ability to create playlists is rolling out to Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers from today. It will be available for any Alexa-enabled device.
