The Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus are finally official. The company unveiled the devices at Mobile World Congress yesterday and impressed many. The devices are the first to offer variable aperture on a smartphone camera. While the Samsung Galaxy S9 has a single camera on the back, the Galaxy S9 Plus sports a dual-camera setup. Samsung has also changed the fingerprint sensor placement this time, putting it under the cameras.
Both Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus are the first to offer variable aperture on a smartphone camera.
The Galaxy S9 series are going to be sold in Coral Blue, Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, and Titanium Grey colors. The Galaxy S9 will be sold at $719.99 (starting price), while the Galaxy S9 Plus will be sold at $839.99 (starting price). You can also get the devices at a monthly price of $30 and $35, respectively.
Furthermore, while the cameras can switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures, the phones also have 6.2-inch and 5.8-inch displays. That, QHD resolutions and the Snapdragon 845 chipset puts the Galaxy S9s at the top of the market right now. The devices will be sold from March 16 onwards, though the company is yet to announce which countries will be in the first wave of the launch.
