Intel, HP Sponsoring Overwatch League

A couple new major sponsors have been announced for Blizzard's Overwatch League. Intel and HP have signed up for long-term deals with the organization, meaning they'll contribute money to the league and also receive some brand exclusivity. Competitors will only play on HP OMEN gaming PCs and displays during matches, for example.
The existence of large sponsors gives Overwatch League another notable revenue source beyond cash from team buy-ins, which amounted to $20 million from each of the 12 teams.
The league's first season begins on January 10, 2018.
For more than twelve years Intel has consistently supported the esports community and we're always looking for ways to help improve how they play, watch, and compete. We're proud to sponsor the Overwatch League and equip all competition PCs with Intel Core i7 processors to contribute to a great experience for fans and competitors. The Overwatch League will be a great showcase for esports, and we're excited to be a part of it with Blizzard.- John Bonini, Intel
