Instagram Stories now sees 300 million active users on a daily basis, meaning it's around twice as large as Snapchat, the service Instagram is widely viewed as taking its Stories feature from. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Stories' growth during an earnings call on Wednesday.
WhatsApp's version of the feature also has 300 million users each day.
Instagram Stories reached 250 million daily users back in June, so it's added upwards of 50 million people in only five months.
Features like Stories are meant to increase the amount of "time well spent" in Facebook's apps, says Zuckerberg.
