Senators Request Investigation Into Sprint, T-Mobile Merger Deal

With T-Mobile and Sprint reportedly close to reaching a merger deal, multiple US senators have written a letter calling for an investigation into the merger. Their letter to the FCC and Department of Justice calls for an investigation to begin now so that the deal can be thoroughly investigated if it ends up being announced.
Amy Klobuchar, Ron Wyden, and Al Franken are among the Senators attached to the letter. They're skeptical of the deal since it'll reduce the wireless carrier industry to just three major players, which could conceivably have a negative impact on consumers.
An anticompetitive acquisition would increase prices, burdening American consumers, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet, or forcing them to forego their internet connection altogether. Neither outcome is acceptable.- Letter
