eBay Lets Users Find Products With Pictures, Not Words

A new way for consumers to find the products they're interested in has been introduced by eBay. The company's "Find It On eBay" feature has launched on Android and Image Search is available on both Android and iOS. You can upload a photo with Image Search or share a photo with the eBay app.
Once eBay has the image you're looking at, it can track down the product or similar ones. This should be an easier way to find items than using a variety of unclear search terms to describe what you want.
This functionality is enabled by the use of a convolutional neural network that can go through eBay's hundreds of millions of listings and then match items by appearance.
