Voice controls via Amazon's Alexa digital assistant are now available on some Nissan vehicles. Alexa is capable of remotely controlling all vehicles from 2016 onward that came with Nissan connected Services. Owners will be able to remotely start their car, unlock/lock doors, honk the horn, and flash their lights.
Alexa is already being integrated into vehicles from other automakers. It's been added to Ford's SYNC3 infotainment system and it was recently announced Amazon would add Alexa to all BMW vehicles starting next year. The integrations differ though, with some involving Alexa's placement in infotainment systems and others only involving some remote control capabilities.
