AI and robots are going to replace humans in a large number of companies, including Deutsche Bank, a German banking firm. CEO John Cryan says a "big number" of its staff will end up being replaced. This is because the tasks performed by accountants, bankers, and others are often better performed by machines.
In our banks we have people behaving like robots doing mechanical things, tomorrow we're going to have robots behaving like people,- Cryan
Because Deutsche Bank and others "won't need as many people," Cryan believes "we have to find new ways of employing people and maybe people need to find new ways of spending their time."
He didn't elaborate on how many employees he thinks will be affected in the coming years, but it could easily be in the thousands. Deutsche Bank employs 100,000 people globally.
