Verizon is implementing some video playback restrictions on its unlimited data plans such that the most basic "unlimited plan" only offers 480p playback on phones and 720p on tablets. That plan also lets the carrier throttle your stream whenever it wants, yet it costs $75 per month.
If you spend a little more, you'll get the "Beyond Unlimited" plan, which reduces video quality to 720p on smartphones.
Since it returned to offering unlimited data, Verizon's data speeds have seemingly taken a hit. It may be altering its plans to reduce network strain.
