Motorola Working On A Display That Heals Itself

It is safe to say that Corning's Gorilla Glass brought a small revolution to displays in terms of durability, but also replaced the plastic cover for more premium look and feel. Instead of using Gorilla Glass on its Moto Z series, Motorola's ShatterShield uses a plastic polymer, which is even more durable.
However, Motorola wants to make a step further and is now reportedly working on a new "smart glass" technology that could heal itself. According to a filed patent, the phone will be able to detect when there is a crack in the screen and notify the user about it, who would then mark the cracked area and let the phone repair the display.
