Facebook will begin considering site load times when ranking domains in the News Feed, the social network has announced. It's going to roll out an update in the coming months that'll specifically boost the ranking of fast-loading pages. Those will show up higher for mobile users.
It'll consider both the general speed of a website and your current connection speed. Based on those factors, your News Feed will be adjusted to display the best-loading sites first.
This isn't new for the network overall. It's been considering factors of that sort when deciding how many videos vs. text posts to show in a user's feed, for example.
