Google's latest Android mobile operating system has finally got a release date. The company confirmed that the Android O will be announced next week, on August 21 during a special event in New York City. The event starts 2:40 PM ET and will be live streamed.
Accidentally or not, the company also confirmed that the new version will be called Android 8.0 Oreo. A file attached to a Google+ post announcing the upcoming event is called "GoogleOreo_Teaser_0817_noDroids (1).mp4", which suggests the Google's mobile OS will be named after the popular cookie.
