Tesla announced today that it delivered 22,000 electric vehicles during the second quarter, bringing its total for the first half of 2017 to 47,100 cars. In the latest quarter, it had 12,000 Model S deliveries and 10,000 Model X deliveries. With its sales thus far, Tesla is likely to surpass its performance from last year.
Its Q2 deliveries were 53% higher relative to the same period in 2016. And since it only delivered 76,000 vehicles during all of last year, it's basically guaranteed to do better this year.
The company expects to deliver a larger number of cars during the second half.
