PC shipments around the world declined 4.3% during the second quarter of 2017, reports Gartner. This is the 11th quarter in a row that has seen a drop in the market. Another research firm, IDC, reported similar findings for the latest period. With 61.1 million units, this was the worst quarter for volume since 2007.
During the period, the top companies were HP, Lenovo, Dell, Apple, Asus, and Acer. HP and Dell reported increases, while all of the others were down. HP was able to overtake Lenovo for the top position.
