Kasperksy has found itself yet again denying claims of a close relationship with Russia's intelligence services. The Russia-based security firm said in a recent post that it doesn't have "inappropriate ties with any government." That post was in response to a Bloomberg article claiming Kasperksy works "with Russian intelligence."
According to Bloomberg, the firm has a "much closer" relationship with Russia than it has "publicly admitted." It's accused of developing "security technology at [FSB's] request."
It's important to be clear: the company never received a request from the Russian government or any affiliated organization to create or participate in ANY secret projects, including one for anti-DDoS protection.- Kaspersky
The firm's CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, responded strongly to the article and its claims.
PhD for 'banya journalism' goes to Bloomberg. Numerous allegations, misinterpretations & fakes. This story is BS brewed on political agenda— Eugene Kaspersky (@e_kaspersky) July 11, 2017
Regardless of the actual nature of its relationship with Russia, Reuters claims the Trump administration has taken Kaspersky off the list of companies approved to work with the US government.
