Developers can now officially post responses to reviews on the App Store. This capability gives developers a place to thank people for helpful responses, provide assistance to those encountering problems, and to defend themselves from attacks against their software.
Apple has been working on this capability for a while and it recently launched a Customer Support role in iTunes Connect, signalling the upcoming availability of review replies. Anyone given a Customer Support role in that system can post responses to user reviews.
Responses of this sort have been possible on Google Play since 2013.
