Amazon Has A Team Working On Health Care Initiatives

A secret team within Amazon, known internally as the "1492" group, is working on healthcare projects. CNBC says the team is developing both hardware and software. Some job postings that mention projects dealing with medical records are part of the evidence for the existence of the team.

The company has already invested in some medical startups, such as Grail, and CEO Jeff Bezos previously mentioned Alexa/Echo could be used by healthcare providers and patients.
